This tournament has selected players from each of the teams face off in 1v1 battles on the Howling Abyss. It’s a short tournament, we’ll have six matchups tonight, and each round will be best of 1 until the final 1v1 battle between the winners of each group.
The winner is determined by whoever meets this criteria:
• first to last hit 100 minions
• achieve first blood
• destroy the first turret
Players are able to talk to each other if they want (or can understand each other) and each player has three bans. Even though it’s on the Howling Abyss map, players are able to recall and purchase items.
First up:
Faker vs VVvert
Obviously, I’m rooting for Faker. Rep for SKT, Faker, you’re still my favorite team!
Faker bans Kalista, Draven, and Azir. VVvert bans Pantheon, Fiddlesticks, and Jayce. VVert picks Varus and Faker insta-locks Nasus!? Let’s see what happens, I guess! It IS Faker, after all!
VVvert’s pushing the wave up a little and is ahead in cs by about 7 cs just before 3 minutes. Faker’s got VVvert pretty low and is forcing him from the lane. If VVvert backs now, he’ll lose his lead in cs, bringing Faker not only even but up in cs by a few. Faker goes back too with the wave pushed under tower and VVvert hurries back to try to make up for the deficit by 4 minutes.
Faker spends all his energy cs’ing and poking VVvert down with Nasus’ e over and over again. It looks like this game is going to be about who reaches 100 cs first, since neither is making significant mistakes or getting too close to dying. Faker is 12 cs ahead at almost 7 minutes and VVvert’s been forced to recall again. Faker hurries to recall and return with more items just as VVvert returns to the lane. Faker gets back and VVvert is still down 10 cs. Faker’s quick and could probably run VVvert down with boots as this strong Nasus now. All he has to do is keep poking at VVvert with his e and cs’ing with his q.
Faker decided at 99 cs to simply all-in and kill VVvert as his “100th minion.” Well done, Faker. SKT confidence restored in me. SKT forever! …I mean, humble, sportsmanlike words.

Next up:
Bjergson vs FoFo
Bjergsen bans Ryze, LeBlanc, and Zoe. FoFo bans Miss Fortune, Viktor, and Taliyah. Fofo locks in Varus and Bjergsen locks in Syndra.
FoFo comes in before minions have spawned and sends Bjergsen back right away to recover health. At 2:15, Bjergsen’s already poked down pretty significantly and has used up all his potions, while Fofo still has all of his. FoFo hits level 6 first and Bjergsen holds up while he catches up in xp to hit level 6, too. Both players are poking each other down low, but nobody dies at 5:30. Bjergsen fakes recalling and farms up some more minions to catch up his cs and set himself a few cs over FoFo, finally recalling as FoFo returns to minions pushed under his tower. FoFo pulls ahead in cs by a steady few but at 7 minutes, Bjergsen bursts FoFo into oblivion and claims the win!

Next up:
PowerOfEvil vs Jisu
It’s after midnight and I’m getting kind of tired of watching League instead of playing, but we’ve only got 4 more rounds of the 1v1 tournament tonight and that will conclude Day 1 of the All-Stars Event.
PowerOfEvil bans Rengar, Olaf, and Nasus. Jisu bans Cassiopeia, Ryze, and Lucian. PowerOfEvil locks in Orianna and Jisu locks in Pantheon. Looks like Jisu is going for the jump-on-him-and-win strategy rather than the cs-to-win strategy. Let’s see what happens!
Jisu pokes away PowerOfEvil before minions arrive in the lane and PowerOfEvil focuses on cs’ing and poking Pantheon coming into minute 2 with 15 cs to 8. Jisu is mostly using his spear to cs and is so quickly losing health, losing cs, and stuck under his turret.
When PowerOfEvil recalls and picks up a good amount of items, Jisu is able to close the cs gap a little bit, but PowerOfEvil just does go right back to poking him and cs’ing. Jisu hasn’t recalled and might just be waiting to hit level 6 and all in PowerOfEvil. It doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to stay, his turret is getting low, and he finally recalls at 4:30. PowerOfEvil simply leaves minions pushed and recalls to get more items and return to lane. Jisu is now behind by more than 10 cs and by the time Orianna returns, Pantheon has only closed the gap by about 5 minutes. Jisu hits 6 and man drops on PowerOfEvil, they’ve both ulted and by the SKIN OF HIS TEETH under PowerOfEvil’s tower, Pantheon manages to get the kill on Orianna. Jisu is the 1v1 winner with a very dangerous Pantheon!

Next up:
Meiko vs Frozen
Meiko is a support player on his professional team, but he plays a lot of mid lane in solo queue, so don’t think that Meiko isn’t going to pull out some really great representation for support players right here, win or lose! I’m definitely rooting for Meiko! Frozen says something really great, that he’s lost a 1v1 to Wolf (SKT’s support) and that it doesn’t matter what role players play, it matters who understands 1v1’s best who will win.
Meiko bans Ryze and Cassiopeia. Frozen bans Karma and has a technical problem so they’re going to remake the game, but it looks like those initial bans should remain. The casters are tired and so am I! But, this should still be an exciting game once it works out and gets going. So we’ve got Meiko banning Ryze, Cassiopeia, and Syndra and Frozen bans Karma, Pantheon, and Lucian. Meiko locks in Azir and Frozen locks in Lux. Lux looks like the stronger pick here, so let’s see what Meiko can do to take down Frozen in this matchup.
Starting out with a little bit of harass before minions arrive and Frozen recalls. Meiko gets started on the minions by himself as Frozen returns in time to begin cs’ing too. Meiko keeps Frozen poked away a bit, which is probably pretty important to keep Lux from bursting Azir down. Meiko only stays up a couple cs by minute three and is a little behind in xp, though poking Lux down pretty well. The turrets on this map hit harder than on Summoner’s Rift, so neither player seems used to last hitting when minions are under their tower. Meiko tries to force a play and pops Frozen’s heal for his own at 4 minutes. Neither really wins this trade. Meiko is maybe slightly up in hp and takes an ult, not using a barrier and nearly dies, but Lux’s ult fails to finish the job as Meiko had a potion running. Meiko goes all in, ults Frozen, and both are so low and the minions are finishing Frozen off for Meiko! That was a laughable ending to that 1v1 with Meiko winning this matchup! Nice job, support player!

Next up:
Uzi vs Levi
Uzi would like to win another 1v1 championship and defend his title from last year. He cutely explains how it would make him so proud to be the first to win two years in a row.
Uzi bans Kalista, Varus, and Miss Fortune. Levi bans Draven, Rengar, and Pantheon. Rather that was opposite and it looks like Uzi locks in Lucian and Levi locking in Viktor. The casters are even confused as it was labeled incorrectly in the champion select for viewers. Uzi and Levi politely ignore each other until the minions arrive in the lane and both start out strongly interested in the minions. Levi’s Viktor pokes Uzi’s Lucian down sharply with the second minion wave , so let’s see if he gets more aggressive and manages to take down the reigning champion here.
Uzi is slightly up in cs when Levi recalls at 4 minutes. Uzi pulls out a 12 minion lead when he recalls as Levi returns under the turret and has real trouble last hitting under his tower. Uzi ults and shoves Levi back under turret. Uzi has 52 cs to Levi’s 38 as they take little trades and pokes. Levi is clearly thinking he needs to kill Uzi in order to win this matchup since he is struggling so much with last hitting. Levi’s e trades on Uzi have been pretty successful and he’s got Uzi’s hp bar remaining under half hp often. Uzi recalls and returns to ult and exhaust Levi, chasing him down for first blood. Uzi is the winner!
The defending 1v1 champion starts out strong: Uzi takes down Levi! #AllStar2017 pic.twitter.com/bQ6Nlv3xpq

Last Up for Day 1:
Sneaky vs brTT
Two adcs match up in this round. I’m favoring Sneaky here, as he’s always been pretty top and he had a good day today, so let’s see if he can keep up his momentum.
Sneaky bans Nasus, Zoe, and Kalista. brTT bans Caitlyn, Varus, and Miss Fortune. brTT locks in Draven and Sneaky has Jhin hovered. It looks like they’re chatting with each other a bit while Sneaky decides what he’ll pick. The casters seem excited for Draven vs Draven for the mayhem of it, but we’ll see what they actually end up playing in a few seconds. Ah, sadly for the chaos, Sneaky locks in Jhin. Now that I see the picks, I’m pretty sure it’s anybody’s game. brTT has Draven, who is pretty powerful early, and really so is Jhin, but Jhin is a little slower than Draven. brTT rushes in to poke Jhin down before minions arrive and they both recall.
Both run back with minions. Draven pushes against Jhin but neither wants to trade with each other, just looking to last hit. Sneaky is up 1 minion and significantly pokes down brTT, but brTT returns the favor a bit. brTT gets low and ends up using his Heal summoner spell at 2 minutes. Jhin pushes to Draven’s tower and maintains a 4 cs lead, while he’s at near full health and Draven is getting poked really low with no more potions left. Jhin retreats to pick up the health and mana pack and returns to harassing Draven. Jhin hits a comet from his runes and gets Draven so low that he must return to base and heal up. Draven returns with an extra doran’s blade and some more health potions. Jhin returns to base with a cs lead of nearly 10 and hurries back to lane as Draven tries to catch up in his absence.
Draven hits level 6 first and is looking for an opportunity to kill Sneaky before he has his own ult, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Sneaky hits 6 and both trade their ults and Sneaky nearly falls to brTT. Sneaky is forced to recall.
CS is relatively even but at just shy of 7 minutes brTT gets aggressive, ultimately using his ultimate. Sneaky is low but opens up his own ult on Draven, but doesn’t manage to do much damage on him, forcing a health potion from Draven, nothing more. Jhin is out of potions again. brTT has now begun to pick up a lead in cs while Sneaky must recall. If this doesn’t turn into a first blood win, it’ll come down to 100 minions and it definitely is getting close. 84 to 80 to Sneaky at almost 9 minutes but brTT is back and pulling out some more aggression again. Sneaky exhausts brTT but doesn’t manage to pull off a kill. brTT pushes Sneaky away, nearly killing him with his ult again, and now it’s really close in minions. Both are over 90 cs and if Sneaky can pull it off he might win. brTT wins with a single cs difference. Sneaky missed a single minion with a w would have been the difference. That was just so close! brTT is the winner!
100 > 99
